Native Houstonian and licensed Texas real estate broker Susie Juravich began her career in residential real estate in 1982 as an assistant to top producing Realtors. I earned my real estate license in 1993 and my broker's license in 1998.
In one of her first industry positions, Susie apprenticed for a land developer in the Texas hill country, where she learned the intricate process involved in the conversion of undeveloped land to estate-home sites ready for future custom-built homes. Involved in all land acquisitions, Susie also attended planning and zoning meetings, appeared in county commissioner court, assisted in utility infrastructure planning, designed a turn-key marketing-to-sales approach, and assisted in subsequent 1031 tax-deferred exchanges. Serving as a consultant to her clients, she was affectionately coined the “dirt chic,” as she helped purchasers realize their dream of living in the country.
Susie later worked as a new-construction home sales consultant for a Texas-based homebuilder where she sold five homes for a total of $2 million during her first week on the job. Susie greeted everyone who walked into her model home with graciousness and enthusiasm. “There were many lessons to be learned in that career path,” says Susie. I came to understand that educating buyers about new home construction was essential, and I gained invaluable blueprint-to-building specification knowledge in the process. I also learned the importance of presentation when introducing a home to a potential buyer.”
As a seasoned residential Realtor and designated Senior Real Estate Specialist, Susie bears witness to one of the greatest changes in her clients’ lives as she helps them to transition from one passage of life to another. “I have a bird’s eye view of how my clients live, entertain and experience all that life brings,” says Susie.
Susie is profoundly proud to be teaching yoga and mindfulness classes since 2011. As a current volunteer with the United Way, she always believes in giving back. She has been a dedicated volunteer for a number of organizations including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Welcome Wagon, and Toastmasters International. Her civic commitments have included treasurer of her neighborhood association and writing grants for children’s natural science programs. Susie has been an active participant in her children’s school clubs and an enthusiastic member of museum and theater guilds.
